Carolina Vester was appointed assistant city manager for the City of Coral Gables in February 2025. She oversees the Community Recreation, Economic Development, Historic Resources and Cultural Arts, and Innovation and Technology departments. Her deep institutional knowledge, service-driven leadership and commitment to community engagement make her an integral part of the city’s executive team.

Vester has been with the City of Coral Gables for more than 21 years, beginning her career as a part-time lifeguard at the Venetian Pool before advancing through leadership roles in the Community Recreation Department. Most recently, she served as deputy director, managing city parks and recreation operations, special event permitting and the Coral Gables Golf & Country Club. She played a key role in land acquisition efforts and expanding public access to green spaces.

A recognized leader in municipal operations and public service, Vester has been an instructor for the Florida Recreation and Park Association (FRPA) Leadership Academy and a frequent speaker at FRPA’s annual state conference. Her professional accolades include being named Ford Mujeres Legendarias of the Year in 2018 and the City of Coral Gables Employee of the Year in 2013.

Vester holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication with a double major in print journalism and fine arts from the University of Miami and is currently studying for her Master of Business Administration at Florida International University. She is fluent in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
