Gustavo J. Ceballos is an Assistant City Attorney and the City Prosecutor for the City of Coral Gables. He has held the role of Assistant City Attorney since 2018 and was given the additional designation of City Prosecutor in 2023. In this role, Ceballos provides legal counsel to city departments with a concentration on land use and development services, in addition to overseeing the Abandoned Real Property Program and prosecuting appeals before the code enforcement special magistrate.
Prior to joining the City, Ceballos served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Fort Lauderdale beginning in 2016. In this capacity, he was the lead attorney for all land use and zoning matters and served as counsel for the Planning and Zoning and Historic Preservation Boards. Additionally, he also served as a hearing officer and special magistrate for other South Florida municipalities. He previously worked at Greenburg Traurig Miami office in their Land Use and Zoning Group.
Ceballos earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University and a Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, and Belen Alumni Lawyers Section.
