The City of Coral Gables (The City) is currently working with its consultant, 300 Engineering Group, P.A. (300 Engineering), to develop a capital plan that will conceptualize drainage improvements within your neighborhood. The objective of the drainage improvements developed as part of this study will be to reduce the severity, duration, and frequency of flooding associated with future rain events, as well as improve the quality of the stormwater discharged into the bay.
Project Background:
Due to high tides and occasional flooding, the City will be conducting an engineering assessment of the Stormwater System within Sunrise Harbor and the adjacent residential area. To this purpose, the City hired 300 Engineering to provide planning-level engineering services, conduct a thorough evaluation of the existing drainage system, and develop a capital plan of stormwater improvements that will optimize the stormwater management system in the area, in conjunction with City Staff and Residents.
By creating a realistic hydraulic model of the existing stormwater system, the City and 300 Engineering can test various flood mitigation efforts such as stormwater improvements, outfall protection, water quality enhancements, increase in road elevations, etc.
