Hiring an Off-Duty Police Officer
Hiring an off-duty police officer involves hiring an active Coral Gables Police Department officer to provide armed security. Please read and follow the below instructions in order to hire an Off-Duty Police Officer.
General Requests
Services include, but are not limited to, private parties, house tenting, and other requests
For these general requests, the below Off-Duty Permit Application must be completed, signed and initialed where indicated, and provided to the Off-Duty Coordinator in order to complete the request
The Police Department respectfully requests all applications be sent to the Off-Duty Coordinator as soon as possible, as they must be approved. Please be advised that any requests received by the Police Department with less than 24 hours notice cannot be guaranteed an officer
Construction & Traffic Safety-Related Requests
Services include, but are not limited to, those of a construction nature, sewer work, installation of cable lines, blocking roadways and/or parking spaces for large equipment, and other requests.
For these construction and/or traffic safety-related requests, the below Off-Duty Permit Application must be completed, signed and initialed where indicated, and provided to the Off-Duty Coordinator along with a copy of the permit and MOT plan in order to complete the request.
The Police Department respectfully requests all applications be sent to the Off-Duty Coordinator as soon as possible, as they must be approved. Please be advised that any requests received by the Police Department with less than 24 hours notice cannot be guaranteed an officer.
Special Event Requests
Services include, but are not limited to, organized runs/walks, block parties, carnivals, festivals, and other requests.
For these special event requests, the below Off-Duty Permit Application must be completed, signed and initialed where indicated, and provided to the Off-Duty Coordinator in order to complete the request. In addition, the Police Department recommends contacting the Special Events Coordinator with the Parks and Recreation Department at 305-460-5605 to ensure each request has the necessary insurance, barricades, trash removal and other services necessary for a successful event.
