Anna Pernas, an experienced urban planning and historic preservation professional, serves as the Director of Historical Resources and Cultural Arts for the City of Coral Gables. In her role, Pernas spearheads the city's historic preservation efforts and plays a key role in administering the Cultural Grants and Art in Public Places programs.

Prior to this, Pernas led the Historic and Environmental Preservation Office in the City of Miami, where she was responsible for the protection of historic, environmental and archaeological sites within city limits. She also served as the Director of Conservation and Education at the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans, a key organization in protecting a city with over three centuries of rich history. In this role, she managed the Revival Grants program, offering free home repairs to low-to-moderate income homeowners in New Orleans' historic districts. Pernas also worked with the City of New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission in the roles of Plan Reviewer and Architectural Historian.

A South Florida native, Pernas holds a master's degree in Preservation Studies from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Florida. She is passionate about giving back to her community and continuing the legacy of preserving and showcasing the historic treasures of Coral Gables.
