The city does not use QR codes for parking payments. void potential fraud, recent reports from nearby municipalities have highlighted scams involving counterfeit QR codes placed on parking meters and signs. These fraudulent codes redirect users to fake websites designed to steal personal and banking information.

To protect yourself:

• Avoid using QR codes to pay for parking in Coral Gables.
• Always use the official "PayByPhone" app, downloaded directly from your app store, to pay for parking in city-run lots and facilities.
• Be aware that private parking lots within the city may use QR codes. If you choose to use them, exercise caution and verify their legitimacy.

If you have used a QR code to pay for parking, we recommend contacting your financial institution immediately to prevent any potentially fraudulent activity.
