The Coral Gables Police Department has a new unit dedicated to patrolling Downtown Coral Gables. While the city is already known as a safe community with some of the lowest crime rates and response times in the area, this new unit helps expand the department’s presence. The unit will increase by five officers annually.

“As our downtown has grown, we felt that expanding our community policing was the right approach,” said Police Chief Edward J. Hudak, Jr. “We encourage area businesses and residents to get to know our officers.”
