The City of Coral Gables was recently named one of the world's Top Seven Intelligent Communities of the Year at the "Building Together: Top7 Communities of the Year" conference by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). This program recognizes communities that demonstrate best practices in broadband connectivity, workforce development, digital inclusion, innovation, community engagement, and sustainability. Coral Gables is the first Florida community to receive the Top7 Intelligent Community designation from the ICF. The 2023 Intelligent Community of the Year will be named at the ICF Summit in October.

"We are honored by this recognition," said Coral Gables City Manager Peter J. Iglesias. "This accomplishment is a testament to our Innovation and Technology team’s dedication and commitment. As a city we have embraced technology and have transformed Coral Gables into a smart city that sets new benchmarks for innovation and connectivity."
