Annual Water Treatment Notice

Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is conducting its annual Chlorine Conversion from Sept. 9 - 22. During this time, free chlorine will replace combined chlorine (chloramine) in the water treatment process in order to cleanse water distribution systems.

At times during this process, residents may notice a chlorine taste or smell. Brief periods of lower-than-normal water pressure or cloudy water may also occur. None of these temporary side effects of the conversion pose any impact to water quality or resident health.
