The City of Coral Gables Fire and Police Departments will gather to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedy where nearly 3,000 people were killed and more than 6,000 were injured in a terrorist attack on the U.S. The ceremony will take place at the city’s Police and Fire Headquarters on the corner of Salzedo and Minorca, at 8:35 a.m. with a radio announcement and a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. sharp to commemorate the moment that the first tower was struck.

'Never Forget' means never forgetting. As we have for the past 23 years we take time to commemorate the events of that fateful morning on September 11, 2001. It is why we at the Coral Gables Fire Department post a 9/11 remembrance on each of our fire trucks. We will never forget the sacrifice of 343 firefighters, 64 police officers, and 13 EMS personnel that perished that day.
