Notice is hereby given that the Coral Gables City Commission will hold an Attorney-Client Executive Session during a special city commission meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, at City Hall Commission Chambers, 405 Biltmore Way, Coral Gables, FL 33134, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Under the parameters of Section 286.011(8), Florida Statutes, the person chairing the special city commission meeting will announce the commencement of an attorney-client executive/shade session closed to the public for the purpose of discussing the litigation styled City of Coral Gables v. Business Improvement District of Coral Gables, Inc., Case No. 2023-003192-CA-01. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023 at 3:30 p.m., at City Hall, 405 Biltmore Way, Coral Gables, FL 33134.

This session may be attended by the following individuals: Mayor Vince Lago, Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson, Commissioner Kirk Menendez, Commissioner Melissa Castro, Commissioner Ariel Fernandez, City Manager Peter Iglesias, City Attorney Cristina M. Suárez, Deputy City Attorney Stephanie Throckmorton, Special Counsel Kathryn Rossmell and Special Counsel Amy Petrick.

A certified court reporter will be present to ensure that the session is fully transcribed, and the transcript will be made available to the public upon the conclusion of the above-styled litigation. 

At the conclusion of the attorney-client executive/shade session, the public meeting will be reopened, and termination of the attorney-client executive/shade session will be announced.

All members of the public are invited to attend the regular portion of the special city commission meeting.

Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, anyone wishing to challenge any decision made by the City Commission shall be required to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, including all testimony and evidence upon which a challenge may be based.
