Construction Regulation Board
The Construction Regulation Board consists of five members appointed by the City Commission. The Board is charged to enforce the construction laws in force and effect in the city such as licensing laws, building codes, and land development regulations including municipal, county and state, which construction contractors and subcontractors must comply within the performance of their professions. These typically involve illegal construction activity and disciplinary action against registered contractors found guilty of violating the Florida Building Code. As such, the Board has the power to subpoena evidence, take testimony, issue orders for code compliance, impose fines against a contractor, recommend action to the construction industry licensing agency, and suspend or revoke contractor’s license to work in the city. (Sec. 101-57 City Code)
The Construction Regulation Board scheduled for Monday, September 18, 2017 has been cancelled and postposed for Monday, October 16, 2017. For further information, please call Belkys Garcia at 305-460-5229.
